The way it works is during an average trivia night you will play five games, each with ten questions each. Each correct answer will earn your team a point, and you can earn up to 50 points if you play an exemplary game.
The fun doesn't stop there. This year's NYC Trivia League adds an additional level of challenge with its bonus point system. Every day the top teams earn additional points. The highest 10 teams earning bonus points and the subsequent 15 getting 3. Over the course of the week top 50 teams also get bonus points which are awarded to the top 25 teams, with the best 25 getting 10 and the next 25 receiving five.
For the calculation of your overall league score, we take your base score and adjust it to a 100-point scale, in consideration of the bonus points 15 to be earned each week. So, for example, a initial score of 50% points is multiplied by 85, and then the bonus points are added to make it a total of 100.
