Are you ready to conquer the trivia event at The Winslow? Here's a strategy to ensure the best results. The first step is to form a team with a variety of expertise. The NYC Trivia league's questions span everything from pop music to obscure historical information, therefore having a well-rounded team is crucial. An array of experts in fields like literature, science and sports could give you an edge.
Following, communication is essential. You should discuss each issue with your colleagues, but keep your voices low to prevent other teams from catching you off-guard. Keep in mind that the honor system is in effect - no phones or other help from outside is allowed.
Strategize on how to tackle each round. The system of points rewards consistency, so aim to score consistently rather than making a bet on one or two questions. Sometimes, a safe guess can get you that additional point.
Keep an eye on your competition. If a team from another is in the lead, change your game plan in the last rounds. Remember, there's always a chance for a comeback, especially with bonus questions that can turn the tide.
At The Winslow the trivia evening is not all about winning, but having fun and discovering something new. So, bring your friends and enjoy a memorable night!
The point system for trivia that is used at The Winslow is designed to make each and every round important. This is how it works For a typical trivia night, each round is comprised of five that have the same ten questions. Each correct answer will earn your team a point, resulting in 50 points for a flawless game.
But the fun doesn't end there. The NYC Trivia League adds an extra layer of competition with its bonus point system. Each day the top 25 teams get extra points. The top 10 teams earning 5 bonus points while the next 15 receiving 3. Over the week, the best 50 teams also earn bonus points which are awarded to the top 25 teams, with the best 25 receiving 10, and the following 25 getting 5.
In order to calculate your overall league score, we use your initial score and adjust it to a 100-point score, taking into account the bonus points of 15 which are awarded each week. A perfect initial score of 50% is multiplied by 85, then the bonus points are added to potentially get to a full 100.
This point system offers the excitement of competition to our trivia nights. It rewards more than just knowledge, but also a consistent and strategic planning. So get your group together and come to The Winslow for a night of fun and challenge where each point could lead to winning!
